This letter serves as a formal declaration that the shipment associated with the Alimentando 🥖🍚🫘 Cuba humanitarian campaign is fully compliant with the regulations of the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
We are conducting a non-commercial, humanitarian effort to provide urgently needed food aid to the civilian population in the Republic of Cuba. The purpose of this shipment is strictly to alleviate hunger and food insecurity among vulnerable individuals and families.
Nature and Scope of Shipment:
- Contents: Non-commercial shipment of food commodities (e.g., rice, beans, oil, salt, and other staple dry goods)
- Total Cargo: ~26,000 lbs of dry goods packed in 25–50kg sacks
- Origin: Sourced from local farmers in Nicaragua
- Destination: Community and religious organizations in Cuba
- No resale, profit, dual-use items, or restricted beneficiaries involved
Legal Basis for Compliance:
This shipment is authorized under the following OFAC General Licenses and regulations:
1. 31 CFR § 515.533 – Agricultural & medical exports to Cuba
2. 31 CFR § 515.575 – Humanitarian projects
3. 31 CFR § 515.559 – Donations of food
4. 31 CFR § 515.560(c)(3) – Travel/transactions related to humanitarian delivery

It is a gesture of solidarity and compassion, aiming to support local communities through the distribution of essential staple foods in collaboration with trusted non-governmental organizations.
